Day 4 of Yonex Brunei Open

Princess Fadzillah/Fadli reach quarter finals. It was a tough match indeed but the mixed double pair of HRH Princess Fadzillah Lubabul Bolkiah and Fadli won their match against Hj Wahid and Wiwi in rubber sets.. However, Fadli is struggling with a bruised elbow but he should be fit for tomorrow's quarter-final match.

The mixed-double pairing Ali Mustapa/Anna forced a great game against Dodi/Azura which went to deuce in the rubber tie before Dodi/Azura escaped with a win for a place in the quarter-finals. That was probably the best mixed-double match I caught last evening.

Jasmain/Amalina lost in the 3rd round while Dodi/Fadli almost lost their doubles match and saved a match point in rubber set to prevail. Today's Yonex Badminton will start early from 3pm to 6pm.

Meanwhile,

NATIONAL shuttlers on the other hand, all crashed out in the 4th day of Yonex Brunei Open.

The national no.1 men's double pair, Jasper Yu-Ak Halim once again produced a spectacular "match of the night" performance before losing out to Dodi-Fadli in a rubber game thriller.

It has been 3 night in a row that they have entertained the crowds with never ending surprises.

From their first round shocking comeback match to avoid defeat, to their second magnificent match performance to overcome Indonesian pair Aan Kustiawan/Menarki Sugito.

The youngsters Jasper Yu-Ak Halim should have sealed their 3rd round encounter against Dodi/Fadli where by the former knotted up two match points, but experience proved costly as the national pair failed to convert their advantage.

Lets hope to see more of these two young boys in the future!
