Japanese Bid Farewell to Brunei Darussalam

TOP Japanese shuttlers Ikaeda Shintaro, Reiko Shiota, Noriyasu Hirata and Keita Masuda who were in Brunei for the past 4 days to promote badminton in an exhibition match in the finals of the Yonex Brunei Open Ike-Shio Cup left for Japan yesterday, 31st January 2010.

Their flight was scheduled at 19:10 (7.10pm). They will have a transit flight to Singapore then Japan.

According to Mr.Okouchi, the Japanese shuttlers have all enjoyed their stay in Brunei despite being their first visit. They have visited almost everywhere in Brunei during their stay and we hope to see them coming back to Brunei again in the future.

Present to see them off at the airport yesterday were Okouchi and Kaori from the Japanese Embassy, ex-national head coach Imay Hendra and current national shuttler Jasper.

Sadly, representative officials from Brunei National Badminton Association were nowhere to be seen at the airport.

Bon Voyage!
